You simply cannot get better value for money! The staff are all fantastic and what I appreciate the most is how they all treat the students as paying guests and not just ‘kids’, it is refreshing and gets the best out of the students too. Thoroughly professional and nothing is too much trouble, I hope they go from strength to strength and we will definitely be back.

I organised a new school trip from near London to Newquay to take part in several activities in the local area. The staff made running the trip much easier and were very professional.

When our coach was running late on the way there the manager of the hotel stayed late into the night to make sure that we settled in ok with no complaints. The food cost for the students was good and provided them with an all-round meal each day.

As this was the first time running the trip our timings were out for most activities. The staff carried on showing professionalism throughout, being incredible flexible if we were turning up late or needed any help with anything. The manager even put on a sweet hunt for the students to keep them occupied one evening.

The hotel has really ticked all the boxes for a school trip: good staff (professional, helpful and with a good sense of humour), inexpensive and well situated. I will very likely be using the same hotel next year when I run the trip again.

I organised a school rugby tour to Newquay. It was exactly what we needed, budget accomodation, a decent games room, good food (all meals) and excellent staff. The boys commented on how comfortable the beds were, and said they cannot wait to go again.

Stayed for 3 nights with a group of 21 students. From my initial inquiry to our departure, the hotel could not have been more helpful and accommodating. It’s proximity to the beach and shops made it easy for the students to find their own way around Newquay. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable enough. In my experience, I have paid a lot more and got a lot less. All meals were great and enjoyed by everyone. On behalf of my colleagues and the students I would like to thank all the staff at the hotel for making our stay in Newquay so enjoyable. If we have the opportunity to visit Cornwall again, we will definitely be staying at the hotel.

The activities put on for us as a group were great, a real mix of learning and fun which gave it all a nice balance. All of the staff were amazing. They were great with the young people and leaders and were always friendly and happy. The young people loved them all and we really appreciated all their hard work and commitment to our group and giving them a great experience. They were always very safety aware and kept us all very safe.

From start to finish First Wave Adventures have been a pleasure to work with. Our residential trip was smoothly organised and stress-free with regards to paperwork. The needs of our children were taken into consideration and an action packed two days was planned accordingly. The children loved spending so much time on the beach - the variety of activities on offer kept them busy and engaged; on top of this they learnt some extremely important lessons about beach safety. The body-boarding and surfing were the favourites - the instructors were energetic and enthused and encouraged the most reluctant of our children. The accommodation was spotless and the delicious food hit the spot after a long day. We will definitely be returning to Hotel Sunnyside with thanks to Annie and her team.
